    My Valentines

    15 February 2016

    I love photographing my mini's.  Especially since they are growing up SO fast! They were twinning in their "L is for Love" shirts by Reagan Twenty Five. All proceeds for the month of February go to Leaping Butterfly Ministry in memory of her daughter Reagan who lost her battle with Turner Syndrome.  Check them out and help fund a great cause!

    Hope everyone had an amazing Valentine's Day surrounded by the people you love <3

    27 August 2015

    Trying to get some inspiration for this years family Holiday Card by posting last years.  Last year was crazy for us! Our little Olivia was born a week before turkey day so we had to wait to make sure we got a shot with her in it.  I always  envisioned her in a present and her big brothers (yes I always count the dog) opening it.  It truly turned out better than I imagined and I am so thankful for all of my husband's help to pull it all together!

    ** please note: for the safety of baby Olivia this was a composite **  And I obviously didn't print it with my watermark.  I just put in on there to ensure KT Rae Photography get's credit for this shot :)

    {Sarah} Senior Portraits

    07 October 2013

    Isn't Sarah the cutest?! We had such a fun time up at Mentor Headlands Beach and closed the session on another day at my studio.  I swear during both sessions we just laughed the whole time.  From people trying to get in her photos while making out in the lake to finding out she share's a mutual love for penguins, the worlds best "dressed" animal ;) I am so excited for Sarah's senior year at Nordonia H.S. and even more excited for her to attend Slippery Rock in PA next year! She restores my faith in the youth with her maturity and kindness for those in need.  We need more young women like Sarah.  Here are a few of my favs from our sessions...

    {More St. Patty's Fun}

    18 March 2013

    I decided to break up the St. Patty's day session into 2 days so it would give people more of an opportunity to join in on the fun without a time limit (like typical mini sessions).

    1st up: 4 year old {Jax}
    This kid was a BLAST to work with! He has so much personality and a kind heart.  He made his mama proud by being a total gentleman and really listened to me when I asked him to change his pose.  I would gladly work with him again and any kid like him! His BFF's Raphael and Leonardo even got in on the photo fun! Take a look...

    Next up: 1 year Old {Evan}

    This little guy was on the MOVE! He was more concerned about doing an Irish Jig than looking good for the camera!  We got a few wonderful and memorable shots though! Check out this cute little nugget...

    Last But Not Least: 3 year Old {Kosar}
    This precious pup was super patient and was put on earth to be in front of the camera! Just look at that gorgeous mug!

    {St. Patty's "Medium" Session}

    03 March 2013

    Well I originally scheduled a St. Patty's Day "mini session" but I couldn't decide which background I wanted to go with so I decided to upgrade it to a "medium" session and do all 3 backgrounds! It was definitely worth it though b/c these kiddos were the absolute cutest and I loved working with them!  I can't wait to do it all again next weekend with another group! Erin Go Bragh!

    {Evan} Smash Cake Session!

    24 February 2013

    My son turned 1 on Feb 1st. and what better way to celebrate than smashing a cake and taking it to the face! He had an absolute blast and we captured some pretty awesome pictures! It's fun to be 1!

    Love of Photography = A New Business Adventure

    20 February 2013

    I finally did it! It took me almost 15 years but I finally started my own photography business.  I have been in love with photography ever since my dad let me use his 1970 Pentax SLR in elementary school.  After that I started purchasing a variety of throw away cameras (including Polaroids) while capturing moments through middle and high school.  I purchased my first Canon point and shoot in high school to use for photography class where I learned the basics of film development, exposure & composition.  I saved up my penny's by working as a waitress, when I wasn't on the soccer field, and purchased my very own film SLR- a Minolta Maxxum HT SI-Plus!  Hey, I was in high school ;) From there I grew with photography buying whatever digital camera came out (mostly point & shoots) as I studied Communications & Marketing at Kent State University.  I still took thousands of pictures (just ask all my college friends... I may have some blackmail worthy photos, ha!) but was not studying photography like I did for so many years.  Once I realized I quickly took a few photography classes at Kent to scratch my itch.  After college I got a "big girl job" with a leading manufacturing company and did pretty well for myself but something was missing.  I mean I liked my job, but I didn't love my job.  Once I talked my boss into spending some good dough on a top of the line DSLR (Nikon of course) so I could take pictures for our website I quickly realized that I was in the wrong profession.  It took several years of saving, practicing, learning and support from my husband but I am finally taking the plunge by becoming my own boss and doing what I love for a living, Photography! They say it doesn't feel like work when you do what you love... let's hope that's true!  Fingers crossed & knocking on wood!
